Classification: Part-time, hybrid-remote

Scope of work: Internal and External Marketing and Communications

General Responsibilities:

The Marketing Associate ensures that the school has a highly effective website to attract new candidates and works to ensure that internal families receive clear messaging and updates from the school.They work closely with senior administration to execute initiatives and events, such as Admissions Open Houses and the Spring Gala. Additionally, they are responsible for updates to the website, social media outlets including Facebook and Instagram, and creating ads and banners for admissions and development. The Marketing Associate reports to the Director of Development and Communications and collaborates with the Admissions Department and Administrative Assistant.

Specific Responsibilities:

Administration 

  • Manage website and social media initiatives.
  • Utilize audience matrix to ensure segmented messaging is delivered to appropriate audiences.
  • Leverage tools to ensure ongoing and overall health of the schools digital platforms.
  • Conduct keyword research and conceptualize, draft, execute and maintain SEO-friendly website content that is also optimized for conversion.
  • Manage site reporting needs, compiling and reporting on key site usage metrics. Ability to use web analytics data to recommend improvement actions on the basis of those metrics.
  • Design School banners, brochures, ads, invitations, flyers, newsletters, and other digital publications in Adobe and Canva as needed.
  • Handle and write Public Communications, including press releases and community newsletters.
  • Coordinate strategic marketing efforts with the Director of Development and Communications

Finance

  • Adhere to a marketing budget and make best use of the funds available.
  • Provide recommendations to the Director of Development and Communications regarding the marketing budget and strategic initiatives.

Other

  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • Background in working in Marketing and Graphic Design for a minimum of 3-5 years, preferably in a nonprofit environment
  • Experience using tools to manage the school’s digital platform including Adobe Creative, HootSuite, Canva, Wordpress, Mail Chimp, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Sites, and more.
  • Experience with managing websites, including maintaining SEO-friendly content.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment and committed to embracing differences and valuing multiple perspectives.
  • Experience using social media

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
