POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative part-time Social Media Manager to join our growing communications team at the French American School of Puget Sound. This role will be ideal for someone with a passion for education and a knack for visual storytelling. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our social media presence, ensuring our online voice aligns with our educational values, mission and community spirit. The Social Media Manager will report to the Director of Communications, Marketing and PR. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and possess excellent writing and organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at the same time. A positive attitude and enthusiasm to engage with all members of the school community are a must.

Preferred start date is as soon as possible. This is a 12-month / year position. 30 hours a week (schedule to be determined)

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
    Develop and execute innovative social media campaigns that reflect the school’s ethos and educational programs.
  • Craft compelling and visual and written content for various social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Etc.)
  • Monitor social media trends and leverage those insights to enhance engagement and follower growth. Analyze social media analytics to measure the success of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the school’s staff, faculty, students, parents and ambassadors to gather and share inspiring stories and news.
  • Help create, organize and maintain the social media calendar throughout the year.
  • Respond to social media comments and queries in a timely manner.
  • Foster a strong online community by engaging with followers, responding to queries and comments, and building relationships
  • Build a library of positive student, parent, and teacher testimonials that can be used to support Admissions events and other events throughout the year.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of school events.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in social media management, with a portfolio showcasing creative and effective campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends and the ability to adapt these to our unique educational content.
  • Excellent visual storytelling skills with a flair for creating engaging and sharable content.
  • Ability to think strategically about the school’s communications needs.
  • Proficiency with video technology, video/photography editing programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud, and other visual applications and programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect with all members of the community.
  • Passion for education and the ability to convey this through social media content.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in production.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and clearly communicate project status and needs.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community.
  • Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds (nine kilograms).
  • Generally, work in standard office conditions and environment.
  • Work at desk and computer for extended period of time.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
Non exempted position – Salary dependent on experience. Sick days, personal days and vacation included in benefits package. Medical and retirement benefits are included within the benefit package.
