The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is  highly motivated and extremely creative with digital media. You must have capabilities of managing multiple projects simultaneously within our D-E brand guidelines. A strong appreciation for branding is necessary, as it will impact all digital materials developed by this person.  This is designed for a person with a go-to attitude and who is able to take on increasingly complex responsibilities. ?

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Communications & Publications (Comm.) Team in creating digital content to culminate in a broad variety of communications collateral primarily for online use.

  • Handle the design of templatized projects and help to delegate out cheerfully and helpfully to our diverse client contacts any and all new design ‘assets’ that can leverage our D-E School brand identifiers, including logos, D-E logo adaptations, and/or applications of type treatment.  This responsibility similarly applies to both print and online media.

  • Supplement current work by the Comm. Team to handle photography, videography, and social media needs.

  • Support the Comm. Team when we “inherit” and then integrate and/or directly apply creative assets that are developed externally, e.g., for client departments such as Admissions and Development.

Duties:

  • The Media Associate reports to the Director of Communications & Publications and plays a key role on the D-E Comm. Team, which provides full service, in-house creative design, marketing, branding, media/public relations, and other services to diverse areas and departments within the School, including all three (3) divisions (Lower; Middle; Upper): Development and  Alumni Relations; Athletics; and Performing Arts and Art & Design departments.

  • The Media Associate will help the Comm. Team with creating and producing online assets that support the D-E School website (www.d-e.org) and related microsites (e.g. detoday.d-e.org); all divisional materials (e.g., Handbooks; Student Directory); event programs, magazines (e.g., D-E Today), etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Dwight-Englewood is proud of its broad interests and excellent reputation, and our brand must reflect that at all times. ?

The Media Associate candidate must have achieved a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Liberal /Fine Arts / Design or applicable field.  1-2 years professional media production experience is preferred, as is a can-do attitude. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required, as is a collaborative mindset and the ability to work with a variety of people both within D-E and external service providers (e.g., designers from other firms). Experience in using video production tools is required. Experience with HTML/programming, WordPress, as well as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred. Experience in how to prepare/package files for printing and online use is also preferred. Experience working with an educational institution / school is a plus.

Terms of Employment:  Full Time, 40 hours / week. This is a 12 month position.  Evening and weekend work is required periodically, for various school events.
