ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have successful work experience in an independent school setting. They should have strong communication, administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills and be flexible, collaborative, proactive, personable, and warm.

WORK SCHEDULE

Working hours are generally 7:30 AM  to 3:30 PM; additional hours may be required in the evenings. You will be asked to attend some faculty/staff meetings on Thursdays from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Director of Communications and Marketing in editing, producing, and sending email and SMS communications, newsletters, handbooks, flyers, and miscellaneous collateral to various constituents
  • Support the Director of Communications and Marketing in maintaining brand standards throughout the organization
  • Support the Director of Communications and Marketing in visual design in social media and print communications
  • Support the Director of Communications and Marketing in coordinating, planning, and documenting communications and social media using shared spreadsheets
  • Take event photos and videos during the school day and after hours as required to document events
  • Regularly post and create stories with appropriate mission-driven content on social media platforms (including, but not limited, to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
  • Assist Parents Association in creating and disseminating materials for and to promote events
  • Maintain and grow a database of photo and video assets on SmugMug; receive photos and videos from constituents; cull, edit, organize, and share albums
  • Maintain the School Portal, ensuring content is up-to-date
  • Maintain lobby screens
  • Serve as the primary receptionist in the 79th St. lobby
  • Maintain physical appearance of 79th St. lobby, including up-to-date bulletin boards; liaise with Facilities, Food Service (coffee maker/supplies), and art teachers
  • Manage student attendance for 79th St.
  • Coordinate security drills, liaising with Security, Facilities, Executive Assistant for Elementary Division and Middle School, and Chief of Staff and Operations
  • Oversee implementation of 79th St. events, liaising with Chief of Staff and Operations, Executive Assistant for Elementary Division and Middle School, Building Manager, Food Service, Communications, Enrollment, and Development
  • Provide onsite support for various school activities as needed, including evening and weekend student programs and development events
  • Communicate regularly with the Chief of Staff and Operations other offices (Enrollment, Business, Development, Communications) to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Maintain discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Additional responsibilities, as needed, including occasional administrative support for the Development Office

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $60,000-$80,000; commensurate with experience.

  • Experience with data entry and willingness to learn how to use various technology platforms
