Associate Director of Marketing and Events – Beginning July 2024

The Associate Director of Marketing and Events is central to the development and implementation of the School’s overall marketing. communication, and outreach efforts. Working closely with the Director of Integrated Advancement, this position assists in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating strategic initiatives to enhance the school’s mission and values, promote its programs and events, and maintain effective communication with various constituencies. The Associate Director will create  and contribute to a wide range of projects including marketing campaigns, social media management, website content development, email communications and newsletters, event planning and promotion, photography, video production, and internal communication efforts.  Leveraging and building relationships within the Baker and nearby communities will be a key component of this work.

The Associate Director of Marketing and Events will collaborate closely with the Head of School and Director of Integrated Advancement in the successful execution of new, comprehensive Marketing, Fundraising, and Admissions Strategies.

Marketing and Communications Strategy

  • Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing & communications strategies, planning, and execution aligned with the school’s mission, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all channels.
  • Operate as a strategic content specialist leading internal and external communications initiatives.
  • Design, write and develop compelling marketing materials such as brochures, presentation materials, advertising, social media content, web pages, videos, email marketing
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report marketing operations activities for admissions events and track media results on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that all communications adhere to brand guidelines and editorial guidelines and meet the highest standards of quality. Responsible for maintaining consistent organizational voice, tone, feel, and look across communication channels.
  • Manage the school’s social media presence across various platforms, including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and engagement with the audience.
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including the school’s website, newsletters, emails, publications, and promotional materials. Maintain day-to-day communications.
  • Manage the school’s website, including content updates, design enhancements, and optimization for user experience and search engine visibility.
  • Work closely with the Director of Integrated Advancement to create captivating video content, assisting with concept development, planning, scheduling, and scriptwriting ensuring smooth logistics and adherence to timelines.
  • Build relationships with parents, faculty, staff and students to help all stakeholders interface, communicate, and market effectively.

 Events

  • Identify and execute internal and external event opportunities to promote the School
  • Manage the Integrated Advancement Calendar
  • Identify and nurture internal and external relationships with relevant partners for marketing, development, and admissions events
  • In collaboration with the Director of Integrated Advancement, execute multiple strategic events for stakeholders throughout the school year
  • Manage the events and marketing budgets
  • Manage all aspects of the annual Baker Benefit

Collaboration

Office of Integrated Advancement

  • Collaborate with the Director of Integrated Advancement to identify marketing priorities in setting the annual budget
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Admissions to ensure consistent messaging across internal and external communications, and share resources

Development

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Integrated Advancement in building the Donor, Corporate Partnerships and Grant arm of the Integrated Advancement office
  • Ensure consistent messaging across internal and external communications, lead outreach events and share resources
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Advancement Associate to maintain internal and external calendars, as well as execute events and manage budgets

Compensation Package:

Salary range $55,000 – $65,000 with Competitive benefits package

The Ideal Candidate Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field from a four-year university
  • Minimum of three or more years of experience in communications, content creation and/or marketing role
  • Experience with working on integrated marketing campaigns, including designing social media strategy
  • Experience with analysis of marketing data marketing data analysis and reporting
  • Possesses high energy, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude

  • Highly developed skills and experience with software and hardware–and the ability to learn or implement new systems
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
    • Experience with and working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software such as HubSpot and Salesforce, FACTS, RenWeb, and/or Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
    • Knowledge of graphic design principles, SEO, video editing software, Chat GPT, Finalsite, and other multimedia tools is a plus.
    • Experience with social media platforms
