Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Ross Institute DBA Ross School

Ross School seeks a highly organized, creative, and proactive Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the school’s marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts across all campuses and divisions. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with several years of experience who is eager to take ownership of key marketing functions while working closely with faculty, coaches, administrators, students, and external creative partners.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator serves as a central hub for content development and community storytelling, helping ensure that the vibrancy of daily life at Ross is reflected across the school’s website, social media channels, marketing materials, and events.
Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling

Capture, edit, and develop compelling photo and video content that showcases student life, academics, athletics, arts, boarding, and community events.
Attend school activities, performances, competitions, and special events to gather photos, videos, and stories.
Interview faculty, students, coaches, parents, and alumni to identify and develop content opportunities.
Maintain a content calendar aligned with institutional priorities and key school initiatives.

Social Media Management

Lead the day-to-day management of Ross School’s Instagram and other social media platforms.
Create, schedule, and publish engaging content that reflects the school’s mission, culture, and strategic goals.
Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to expand reach and strengthen community engagement.
Track performance metrics and provide regular reporting and recommendations.
Monitor evolving trends, platforms, and best practices and identify new opportunities to enhance Ross’s marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts through social media.

Website Management

Maintain and regularly update the Ross School website.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure website content remains current, accurate, and engaging.
Assist with the creation and publication of news stories, announcements, event information, and other digital content.
Help identify opportunities to improve user experience and website effectiveness.

Project & Vendor Coordination

Manage relationships with photographers, videographers, designers, printers, and other creative vendors.
Coordinate creative projects in partnership with the Manager of Communications and Marketing.
Assist in ensuring brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
Support the development and production of marketing collateral and promotional materials.

Community Engagement & Internal Collaboration

Serve as a key liaison with faculty, athletics, arts, admissions, advancement, and school leadership to identify stories and communication opportunities.
Build strong relationships across campuses to ensure awareness of upcoming events, achievements, and initiatives.
Support internal communications efforts and help amplify important school announcements.

Event Support

Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of school events throughout the year.
Coordinate event communications, photography, social media coverage, and post-event storytelling.
Support admissions, advancement, alumni, and community events as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or social media management , ideally in education, nonprofit, or community-oriented organizations
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience managing social media platforms, particularly Instagram.
Familiarity with content management systems and website administration.
Strong photography and videography skills, including the ability to capture content using mobile and professional equipment.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience working with external vendors and creative partners is preferred.
Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools is a plus.
