Hiba Academy Bay Area
The Senior Marketing & Communications Manager is fully responsible for high quality execution of the school’s marketing strategy to both drive enrollment and cultivate the image and reputation of Hiba Academy as a prestigious and elite school in the Bay Area market.
This is a key role in enhancing the school’s profile, driving awareness and interest from Bay Area families in the school’s mission and vision with the purpose of driving inquiries and applications from mission-aligned families, ultimately ensuring the financial sustainability and future growth of the school. The Marketing Manager must uphold a highly professional image and conduct at all times, reflective of the elite nature of the setting.
The successful candidate will display exceptional technical Marketing execution skills, along with highly developed interpersonal skills allowing them to collaborate and communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners. This role will involve both contributing to shaping the Marketing strategy (in close collaboration with external agencies/vendors, with the Head of School and the Director of Marketing & Enrollment Management, as well as other senior leaders) and hands on Marketing execution including digital, advertising, PR/comms, content development and data analytics.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently as well as a part of a team, flexible and agile to work in a start-up environment, and able to deliver high quality of work reflective of the elite status of Hiba Academy Bay Area.
In the initial phase, this is a start-up role. Considerable flexibility and commitment will be required, especially in the pre-operational and early phase of school opening.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team on the strategic development of the Marketing plan for Hiba Academy Bay Area.
- Fully execute the approved communication and marketing strategy, keeping Director of Marketing & Enrollment Management and Head of School updated on progress, opportunities and areas of risk or challenge
- Develop holistic annual content plan and marketing campaigns to position Hiba Academy Bay Area as the premier, elite bilingual international school in the Bay Area market and ensuring all content aligns fully to both school and WCEC Group brand guidelines. Work closely with Head of School and academic team to identify opportunities to highlight examples of Hiba’s outstanding education provision to promote via external Marketing channels
- Establish productive and beneficial relationships with media (PR, advertising, printing, website portal, social media), negotiating preferential partnerships where possible
- Build mutually beneficial relationships with community partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration, corporate partnerships, events, sponsorship and crosspublicity, working closely with enrolments team
- Work closely with the school community including parents and founding families through regular communications, events and activities to encourage high engagement
- Regularly update content on school website to reflect Hiba Academy’s USPs, educational provision and content of interest to prospective parent to enhance the school’s image, drive traffic and enquiries to achieve enrolment target.
- Develop plan for and ensure regular storytelling through the school’s social media accounts (including Linked In, Instagram, Facebook and WeChat account) to increase brand awareness.
- Coordinate and help organize events for marketing and admissions on and off campus, not limited to parent open houses (offline and online) educational exhibitions and partner events. Ensure broad promotion of these events to a wide audience via all appropriate channels
- Create and develop high quality marketing and academic (handbook, curriculum guide, parent newsletters etc) collateral to support enrolment, new family induction and school operations, including producing copy and content which aligns with the school’s image and brand ‘voice’.
- Responsible for Marketing data analytics, monitoring effectiveness of Marketing efforts and channels and collaborating with Director of Marketing & Enrolment Management to develop regular marketing reports for Head of School and Senior Leadership Team to inform Marketing strategy and budget allocation
- Oversee relevant areas of the Marketing budget as delegated by the Director or Head of School, ensuring spend is within budget and monitoring ROI
| QUALIFICATIONS | Education | Bachelor’s degree or above |
| Language | Fluent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese a significant advantage. | |
| EXPERIENCE | Experience | 8+ years of relevant Marketing experience; including digital Marketing, social media, copywriting, comms and data analytics. Experience of Education or a related field may be an advantage but not essential. |
